Sebastian Long, 13, of Elliottsburg, Pennsylvania, died tragically on December 2, 2025. A cherished student at West Perry Middle School, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and devotion to family and friends that touched countless lives in his short time.
Born August 5, 2012, Mr. Long was the beloved only child of Bob and Melanie Jamison. The Jamisons have been deeply involved at West Perry for seven years through the West Perry Middle Family Association, where Melanie served as a longtime officer and both parents volunteered at school events, fundraisers, and band activities.
Mr. Long was known for his quiet humor, love of video games, and devotion to his close circle of friends. Teachers remember him as a respectful student who often stayed after school to assist with setups for band concerts and sporting events.
In his free time, Mr. Long enjoyed fishing with his father at local creeks, building elaborate Minecraft worlds, and spending weekends with extended family in the Perry County countryside. His infectious laugh and caring nature made him a favorite among younger cousins and neighborhood children.
Following his passing, the West Perry School District activated crisis counseling teams and opened its doors for community support sessions. Classmates organized a memorial display in the middle school lobby filled with notes, drawings, and photos celebrating his life.
A private family service will be held, with a public celebration of life planned for early January 2026 at West Perry Middle School. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the West Perry Middle Family Association in Mr. Long’s memory, ensuring his kindness continues to support the school he loved.
