Originally from Saint Paul, Minnesota, Erik had built a vibrant life in South Florida with his partner, Kylie Ness, and their newborn daughter, Sophia. His sudden departure has brought profound sadness to his family, friends, and colleagues.
Erik grew up in Saint Paul and graduated from Harding High School, where he discovered his talent for hands-on craftsmanship. He furthered his skills in construction management at Saint Paul College, paving the way for a dedicated career in the trades.
For five years, Erik was a valued member of the Northland Concrete & Masonry team, known for his precision, innovative problem-solving, and commitment to sustainable building practices on commercial projects across the Twin Cities.
At the heart of Erik’s life was his family. He shared a loving home with his partner, Kylie, and their infant daughter, Sophia. Erik embraced fatherhood with tenderness and joy, often spending evenings taking walks by Biscayne Bay, reading to his daughter, and crafting handmade gifts for her. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and his gentle, nurturing presence created a warm and secure home.
Erik’s life beautifully blended his Midwestern roots with the energy of South Florida. He enjoyed weekend fishing trips in the Everglades, hosting backyard gatherings, and volunteering as a youth soccer coach for immigrant families in Miami. A memorial service for Erik will be held on December 12, 2025, in Miami, with arrangements made for loved ones in Minnesota to participate remotely. In addition to covering funeral expenses, the family has established a trust fund for his daughter, Sophia.
