It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Billy Ray Taylor, Jr, a 67-year-old beloved resident of Ware County, Georgia, who passed away at his residence on March 15, 2026, after an extended illness.
Born in Ware County on December 14, 1958, to the late Billy Ray Taylor, Sr. and JoAnne Harris Taylor, Billy had a life characterized by quiet strength, strong familial ties, and an unwavering presence that comforted people around him. His children, siblings, and extended family now cling to the memories of a man who gave his all for the people he loved, but his quiet departure has left them with a deep sense of emptiness.
Billy served in the United States Army, carrying the same sense of duty and discipline into civilian life that defined his character from an early age. He took pride in his work and the connections he built along the way, always approaching responsibilities with reliability and a down-to-earth manner that earned the respect of those who knew him.
His daughters are Christy Rae Taylor of Alma and Tiffany Jackson (Andrew); brothers are David Randall Moore of Alma and Benjamin Taylor; sisters are Theressa Palmer Taylor of Bickley, Peggy Hutcheson, and Michelle Taylor of Nicholls; nephews are George Randall Taylor Bazemore and Mack Allen Taylor; niece is Kattie Mack Taylor; and grandchildren are Michael, Logan, Gracie, Leah Taylor, Krystal, Julysa, and Gabriel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Angela Bratcher Taylor, brother George Allen Taylor, and sister Judy Crawford. Billy’s role as a father and grandfather remained at the heart of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with his growing family.
Billy Ray Taylor, Jr. will be remembered as a devoted son, father, brother, and friend whose quiet strength, sense of duty, and warm presence left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though his time with us ended after an extended illness, the love, loyalty, and gentle spirit he shared continue to live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, siblings, and all whose lives he touched.
