A pregnant mother of two was fatally shot while driving home from work during heavy evening rush hour traffic on Interstate 75 in Atlanta on April 14, 2026 leaving behind two young daughters and an unborn child in a case that has shaken her family and the local community.
The 34-year-old Bianca Huntley, a quality manager at the DHL courier and logistics company in McDonough had recently earned a promotion and was actively hiring a team when she headed northbound on I 75 near North Central Avenue Southwest close to Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport around 6 15 p m in her white BMW SUV.
She had just left work and was navigating the congested lanes when she sustained a gunshot wound to her left arm and torso prompting her to pull the vehicle onto the median where the turn signal continued blinking as she attempted to exit the car and dial 911.
Atlanta police officers responded to reports of a person shot and found Huntley inside the SUV before rushing her in critical condition to Grady Memorial Hospital where she was later pronounced dead with the Fulton County Medical Examiner ruling the cause of death a homicide from the gunshot injuries.
Huntley who had moved from Greensboro North Carolina to Atlanta about nine years earlier and built a life as a single mother and homeowner by age 30 was remembered by her mother Gloria Allen as my baby and a shining light that got snuffed out with Allen expressing that her daughter did not deserve this end and believing the shooting was a targeted act rather than random road rage.
The Atlanta Police Department Homicide Unit continues to investigate with no suspects identified and officials working to determine whether Huntley may have been shot at a separate unknown location before pulling over while pleading for witnesses from the busy 6 30 rush hour traffic to come forward and offering a reward through Crime Stoppers.
