Melvin’s passions included cooking and hospitality, which he pursued through vocational training in culinary arts at Ivy Tech Community College. He worked as a line cook at a local Hispanic restaurant, where he delighted patrons with authentic Guatemalan flavors and shared family recipes.
Outside of work, he enjoyed soccer games in local leagues and volunteering at community events celebrating Latino heritage. His generosity and active lifestyle reflected his commitment to making others feel welcome and valued.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Usher Funeral Home, 2909 E. 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46201. Family and friends will gather to honor his life and legacy, sharing memories and offering support during this time of grief.
