On December 7, 2025, the city of North Vernon, Indiana, gathers in remembrance of Lisa Ann Creech, who passed away at 55. Born May 21, 1970, in Greensburg, Lisa was the daughter of James L. Sturgill and Edith Arnett Sturgill. She spent her years in Jennings County cultivating heartfelt bonds with family and friends, leaving a legacy of kindness and devotion.
Lisa’s life was anchored in her love for her family. She was a devoted mother to her children, Jonathon Moore, Donavan Creech, and Kiesha Highfill. Her grandchildren—Dawson Creech, J.J. Creech, Mia Day, Cooper Highfill, and Carsyn Highfill—were a constant source of pride and delight, and her home radiated affection and hospitality.
She is survived by her brother, Luther Sturgill, and sisters Patricia Burchett, Norma Bennett, Donna Brackett, and Mary Longsberry. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, yet she continued to be a unifying presence for her siblings, offering unwavering support and warmth that enriched every gathering.
Lisa invested herself in creating a welcoming and well-ordered home, taking deep satisfaction in homemaking. Her careful attention to detail and daily routines reflected a sincere desire to provide a stable, loving space. She balanced practical responsibilities with simple joys that brought contentment to her days.
Among her pleasures were baking for her loved ones, watching true crime series, listening to music, and taking leisurely drives. These activities revealed her thoughtful, easygoing nature and her talent for finding happiness in everyday moments.
A time for visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. The funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM and will be led by Rev. Todd Rowland. Cremation will follow. Those who wish to honor Lisa’s memory may do so through a memorial contribution to support her family.
