Edna Lois Denton Easley, a 78-year-old longtime resident of Calhoun City, Mississippi, died gently on Thursday, December 4, 2025, following a brief period of sickness. She spent her final moments encircled by her loving family, her serene passing creating a space of fond remembrance for all who were touched by her deeply affectionate and uncomplicated way of living.
A child of the early 1940s, Edna was shaped by the values of Calhoun County, where she spent her formative years. The principles of steadfast faith, gentle strength, and compassion she learned there became the foundation for her life’s work as a dedicated homemaker and the emotional anchor for her relatives.
Her career was the home, a domain she managed with wholehearted attention. She focused her efforts on cultivating a space of warmth and security, where care was expressed through the rhythm of daily tasks—cooking nourishing meals, maintaining a tidy household, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all.
Her greatest devotion was reserved for her family. She shared a lifelong partnership with her beloved husband, Robert Lee Easley, a union she cherished above all. A service to honor her life was conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Reedy’s Chapel Baptist Church. Friends and family gathered during visitation hours at Pryor Funeral Home on Saturday, December 6, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and again at the church on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the service began.
