Luca Pace Death – Deloitte senior manager in Malta dies following brief illness

Luca Pace, a senior manager at Deloitte, Malta whose warmth, professionalism, and dedication left a lasting impression on colleagues and the wider professional community in the island nation, passed away suddenly on April 9, 2026, at the age of 33 following a brief illness that has shocked everyone who knew him.

Born and raised in Balzan, Malta, he joined Deloitte in 2015 straight after completing his studies at the University of Malta and quickly established himself in the firm’s Tax business, first contributing to the international tax team where he handled advisory work across multiple industries with a keen focus on the automatic exchange of information.

Over nearly eleven years with the firm he rose to senior manager within the Global Employer Services team, specialising in individual client tax requirements and supporting employers with complex matters involving global workforces, always delivering thoughtful guidance that helped clients navigate intricate regulations with clarity and confidence.

Outside the office Luca was a keen paddler and active member of Surfski Shack, where he found balance and joy on the water, bringing the same energy and camaraderie to his personal life that colleagues appreciated in the workplace.

Tributes have poured in from across Malta’s business and social circles, with friends and coworkers remembering him as a talented leader whose kindness and positive influence made every interaction brighter, one colleague noting that even brief conversations on the tax floor left a singularly memorable impression of genuine care and professionalism.

As a mark of respect Deloitte Malta closed its offices on April 10 and again on April 13, giving everyone time to reflect and honour a valued colleague and friend whose absence will leave an indelible mark on the firm for years to come, while heartfelt condolences continue to flow to his family and loved ones from the many whose lives he touched.
