Hobert Keathley, age 77, of Teaberry, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky. He was born on October 8, 1948, in Galveston, Kentucky, to the late Walter and Oma Adkins Keathley.
He was married to Goldie Hall Keathley and worked as a coal miner. Hobert was also a proud member of the United Mine Workers of America, reflecting his lifelong ties to Kentucky’s mining heritage. His work and dedication were respected by his family and community.
Hobert was preceded in death by his wife Goldie, his son Billy Joe Keathley, and several siblings including Troy, Bufford, James Elzie, Elmer, Palmer, Phillip, Gracie Vanhoose, Patricia, Ivalee, and Virginia Keathley. His passing leaves a deep void in the lives of his loved ones.
He is survived by his son Shawn Keathley and wife Selena of Teaberry, Kentucky, grandchildren Destiny Keathley, Taylor Keathley, and Jeremiah Keathley with wife Makayley, and great‑grandchildren Eden Keathley, Navie Keathley, Layne Collins, and Knox Keathley. He is also remembered by his special nephew James Waldo Keathley and special friend Judy Sizemore.
Visitation began Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 6 p.m. at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin, Kentucky, and continued all day Wednesday, December 10. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 12 noon at the funeral home with Phillip Keathley and Dan Fraley officiating. Burial followed the service.
