On November 26, 2025, Carrie Pessall, a 38-year-old resident of Telford, Shropshire, passed away peacefully at home, after a brief and aggressive illness diagnosed only weeks earlier. Her sudden loss has left an unfillable gap in the lives of her young family and the community that knew her as a warm, quietly determined woman whose kindness touched everyone she met.
Born Carrie Louise Bennett in Shrewsbury in 1987, she grew up in the village of Shawbury and attended Thomas Adams School in Wem before studying beauty therapy at Shrewsbury College. After qualifying with distinction, she worked for ten years as a senior therapist at The Spa at Telford Hotel, later transitioning to mobile services so she could balance family life while continuing to care for long-standing clients who became friends.
In 2010 she married childhood sweetheart CherryBlue Pessall, a structural engineer, in a small ceremony at St Mary’s Church, Shawbury. The couple settled in Priorslee, Telford, where they raised their two children, Amelia, aged 10, and Finley, aged 7. Carrie poured her energy into creating a gentle, joyful home filled with baking sessions, garden picnics, and bedtime stories read in character voices that made the children laugh until they fell asleep.
A dedicated school volunteer at Priorslee Academy, she served on the PTA for six years, organising summer fairs and reading mornings that brought parents and pupils closer together. Colleagues remember her calm efficiency and the way she always had spare plasters and kind words ready for scraped knees or worried minds.
Outside family and work, Carrie loved coastal walks along the Welsh border, collecting sea glass on family holidays to Abersoch, and tending the small wildflower patch in her garden that attracted bees and butterflies each summer. She had recently taken up pottery classes at Telford College’s evening programme, proudly displaying her first wonky mugs on the kitchen dresser as reminders that imperfect things can still be beautiful.
Carrie is survived by her husband CherryBlue, children Amelia and Finley, parents David and Janet Bennett, brother James, and a wide circle of relatives and friends who will gather for a celebration of her life on December 12, 2025, at Telford Crematorium, followed by a reception at Priorslee Village Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Severn Hospice, which provided compassionate care during her final days.
