On December 2, 2025, Colorado Springs lost one of its most steadfast and quietly inspiring members with the unexpected passing of Andrew Stamps at age 36. His sudden departure has deeply saddened the tight-knit community he called home for most of his life.
A lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, Andrew graduated from Doherty High School and later earned a degree in computer networking from Pikes Peak State College. He spent the last twelve years as a senior network engineer at Ent Credit Union, where he was widely respected for his expertise, reliability, and his generous habit of staying late to help colleagues solve complex technical issues.
Andrew’s true passion, however, lay beyond the screen. He was a devoted father to his six-year-old daughter, Harper, and a loving fiancé to his partner of eight years, Emily Carter. Together, they shared a life filled with simple joys: board-game nights, spontaneous drives along scenic routes, and cherished family time.
An avid outdoorsman, Andrew loved fly fishing in Eleven Mile Canyon and had set a personal goal to summit all of Colorado’s 58 fourteeners, having already conquered 42 of them. He was also an enthusiastic amateur astrophotographer who built his own backyard observatory, often teaching Harper and neighborhood children how to find planets and galaxies through his telescope.
Deeply committed to his community, Andrew volunteered monthly with the Trails and Open Space Coalition, maintaining sections of the Palmer Trail, and regularly supported local Search and Rescue fundraisers—whether by offering his technical skills or simply grilling burgers for a crowd.
Those who knew Andrew remember him as a humble listener, a calming presence, and someone who quietly made the world better—through the trails he helped maintain, the stars he shared with wide-eyed children, and the steady kindness he offered to all.
A celebration of Andrew’s life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2025, at Bear Creek Regional Park, where friends and family are invited to share stories and release paper lanterns under the night sky he so loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pikes Peak Library District’s youth astronomy programs, continuing Andrew’s passion for inspiring young minds.
