A beloved resident of Washington, Vincent Anthony Caluori Sr. has sadly passed away on December 24, 2025, at the age of 87, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. His departure leaves behind a legacy of remarkable achievements, treasured memories, and a life lived with passion and adventure.
From an early age, Vince’s fascination with aviation was clear. His father once brought home a wooden model of a B-24 bomber, complete with metal propellers, sparking a lifelong love for airplanes. Even during a difficult period at age 11, when rheumatic fever confined him to bed for months, Vince’s determination never wavered. He spent that time building model aircraft, including a 42-inch Stinson Voyager gifted by his aunt, nurturing the dream that would shape his future.
As he regained his health, Vince thrived both academically and athletically. He attended St. Peter’s Prep, where he played semi-pro and high school baseball, before entering Parks College at just 15 years old. His brilliance and drive led him to earn a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering and his pilot’s license. By 19, he was already working at Curtis Wright, and soon after began a distinguished 34-year career at The Boeing Company, rising to senior executive in the Space Division.
At 55, Vince retired from Boeing, but his energy and zest for life carried him into new pursuits. He embraced cross-country ski racing, endurance cycling, and international travel, continuing to push boundaries and seek adventure. Retirement, however, proved temporary. Friends at a fledgling company called Wizards of the Coast invited him to lend his expertise, and Vince stepped in, ultimately serving as CEO and guiding the company through pivotal years.
Throughout his journey, Vince was admired not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his resilience, curiosity, and love of life. His story is one of overcoming challenges, seizing opportunities, and inspiring those around him with his dedication and spirit.
Though he is gone, Vincent Anthony Caluori Sr. will be remembered as a man who lived fully, dreamed boldly, and left an indelible mark on both his family and the wider world. His memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
