Tyler Heibel, 42, of Fountain, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, surrounded by his family after a sudden and brief illness. His unexpected departure has left an immense void in the Fill tempore County community where he was known for his gentle strength and quiet generosity.
Born and raised on a dairy farm outside Fountain, Tyler graduated from Lanesboro High School in 2001 and later earned an associate degree in agribusiness from Minnesota State College Southeast. For nearly two decades he worked as a herdsman and crop specialist at a large dairy operation near Preston, where his calm expertise and willingness to help neighbors during planting and harvest seasons earned him lifelong respect.
Tyler shared 18 years of marriage with his wife, Amanda, and together they raised three children, ages 15, 12, and 9, in a welcoming home filled with the sounds of laughter, tractor engines, and weekend bonfires. He coached youth baseball in Fountain and never missed a 4-H meeting or school concert, proudly cheering from the bleachers with a thermos of coffee in hand.
An avid outdoorsman, Tyler spent early mornings hunting whitetail in the bluffs along the Root River and late evenings ice-fishing on local ponds with his children and father. He restored vintage John Deere tractors in his shop, entering them in the Fillmore County Fair each summer, and took particular pride in teaching his kids how to back a trailer straight on the first try.
In the community, Tyler served on the Fountain Fire Department for 15 years, responding to calls with the same steady composure he brought to everything else. He quietly delivered meals to elderly neighbors after snowstorms and organized benefit auctions for families facing medical hardship, always preferring action over recognition.
A celebration of Tyler’s life will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Fountain Community Center, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Fountain Fire Department or Mayo Clinic’s patient assistance fund, honoring the kindness Tyler showed every day.
