Shortly after 5:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, a peaceful morning in Barren County turned sad when Glasgow resident Timothy Parson, 41, was killed in a serious two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Happy Valley Road (KY 90) and Flint Knob Road. Troopers from Post 03 arrived to the site after reports of a significant collision, according to Kentucky State Police.
According to investigators, Parson was driving a black 2018 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Happy Valley Road when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle crossed the center line. The Silverado then entered the path of an eastbound 2022 Peterbilt commercial vehicle traveling through the intersection.
The commercial vehicle was operated by Rayen Hicks, identified as a 31‑year‑old or 32‑year‑old man from Sellersburg, Indiana, depending on the reporting source. The impact between the two vehicles was described as severe, leaving both heavily damaged at the scene. Emergency personnel from multiple agencies responded to assist with the crash investigation and roadway management.
Parson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Barren County Coroner’s Office. Kentucky State Police noted that the collision occurred approximately one mile north of Glasgow and that no additional injuries were reported regarding the commercial vehicle driver.
Trooper Grant Roberson has been assigned as the lead investigator on the case. KSP stated that the investigation remains ongoing as they work to determine what caused Parson’s vehicle to cross the center line. Assisting agencies included the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Barren County EMS, and other KSP personnel.
The fatal crash has deeply affected the Glasgow community, where Parson was well known. Local residents expressed sadness over the sudden loss and concern about the dangers along this stretch of Happy Valley Road, which has seen multiple serious collisions in recent years. Authorities continue to urge drivers to exercise caution as the investigation proceeds.
