A beloved resident of Whitney, Texas, Robert (Bob) Wilson Ljungdahl, has sadly passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Sales Family Hope Center at Sunset Home in Clifton. He was 89 years old.
Lester H. and Ruth (Wilson) Ljungdahl welcomed Bob into the world on November 19, 1936, in Colby, Kansas. He started his education at Kansas State College after high school in Manhattan, Kansas, and in 1963 he graduated with two Bachelor of Science degrees in Latin American Studies and Business from Trinity University in San Antonio. He met Sue Talkington, his future wife, at Trinity; they were married on July 29, 1961, and spent 64 years together.
Following his education, Bob led an entrepreneurial and adventurous career. He continued the family ranching tradition and later moved to Mexico City, where he started IBB de Mexico and was nationally recognized for introducing artificial insemination for cattle to the Mexican government. In 1970, his creativity led him to found Land & Water Amenities in Houston, later moving to Lake Lure, North Carolina, to run Amenities Ltd. After returning to Texas in 1991, he worked with Ericsson, traveling to organize cell tower installations.
Bob was a man of deep faith and a devoted family man, cherished as a husband, father, and “MiDaddy”. He found joy in fishing, traveling with Sue, and attending his grandchildren’s activities, but he treasured time with family and friends above all.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Phil Ljungdahl, and sister-in-law Nancy Ljungdahl. He is survived by his wife, Sue; daughters Debbie Little (husband Larry) and Carolyne Ljungdahl (partner Jeff King); grandchildren Cole Little (wife Molly), Madeline Little, and Susan Grace Pelzl; brother Bill Ljungdahl (wife Jeannine); sister Beate Sachnowitz (husband Mike); sister-in-law Patty Ljungdahl; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Sales Family Hope Center or Hospice Sunset in Clifton. Arrangements for a Celebration of Life are pending and will be announced soon.
