On December 24, 2025, Patrick Francis Scott, a 43-year-old Denver, Colorado resident, died quietly. He is renowned for his vivacious personality, curious mind, and profound love of the natural world, all of which inspired others around him. His parents, siblings, and close friends were present when he passed away.
He was born in Springfield, Illinois, on August 10, 1982, and attended Sacred Heart-Griffin High School and Little Flower School for his early schooling. His knack for academics led him to Purdue University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Later on, he graduated from the University of Illinois Springfield with a master’s degree in computer science.
He began working as a systems analyst and developer in 2010 after relocating to Winter Park, Colorado. His skills and management ability were quickly recognized, and in 2015 he was transferred to Alterra Mountain Company’s (formerly Intrawest) Denver central office.
As a lead software architect, he built a vibrant and respected professional reputation by contributing significantly to the organization’s technological advancement and fostering collaborative work environments that reflected his approachable and insightful personality.
His passion for sports and the outdoors served as the foundation for his personal interests, which extended well beyond his career. He actively engaged in the Denver community of Chicago Bears supporters and was a devoted Colorado Rockies season ticket holder for 10 years, exhibiting unwavering loyalty across several seasons.
On January 13, 2026, Little Flower Church in Springfield will host a funeral Mass and a viewing period in his honor. Reverend Al Kemme will lead the Mass at 11:00 a.m. after the visitation period, which runs from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m.
