On January 8, 2026, a cherished resident of Dacula, Georgia- Barbara Leigh Chandler, died peacefully at her residence at the age of 53. Surrounded by family, her gentle departure has generated profound sorrow within this suburban area and further, where she established a meaningful life after moving from her Midwestern origins.

Richard and Eva Chandler welcomed her into the world on August 28, 1972, in Omaha, Nebraska. Her upbringing in the heartland gave her a temperament that is characterized by determination and consideration. These qualities, together with a resourceful and independent disposition, helped her navigate life’s transitions, such as moving to Georgia, where she found new opportunities for both professional and personal growth.

She constructed a prosperous vocation in the real estate sector, distinguishing herself as an agent and a specialist in property rehabilitation until her retirement. Her aptitude for revitalizing residences enhanced both aesthetic and market value, demonstrating her meticulous attention and dedication to crafting welcoming environments.

Her principal focus and most cherished accomplishment was her motherhood. Her three children—Blake Johnston (spouse Leah), Ben Johnston, and Brooke Johnston—were the beneficiaries of her complete affection and direction, constituting the central focus of her existence.

She shared a significant companionship with Chris Fischer, which added depth and shared experiences to her life. She sustained close connections with her parents, Rich and Eva Chandler, and her sisters—Sheryl Leblanc (spouse Ray), Diana Bankey (spouse Tim), and Jenny Townley (spouse Caleb)—along with an extended family network including nieces Samantha Nicholson, Alexandra Hunter (spouse Dustin), Falon Bankey, Eva Bankey, Lexi, Ariana, Ellie, and Isaac.

On Saturday, January 17, 2026, Braselton Funeral Home will host a ceremony to honor her life. Rev. Jimmy Orr will lead a chapel service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. after the visitation, which will take place from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. There will be a reception till 6:00 p.m.
