We are utterly heartbroken to inform you of a profound tragedy. LaDonna Craig was involved in a fatal accident on March 15, 2026 and did not survive. The 39-year-old beloved resident of Lincoln, Nebraska affectionately known as “Storm” in the roller derby community lost her life when the Kia she was driving westbound on Highway 34 near Malcolm in Lancaster County slid out of control during white out conditions from a winter storm crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a Ford F150.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by responders while the truck’s driver and passenger sustained non life threatening injuries and were transported for treatment. This sudden loss during the storm has left the entire No Coast Roller Derby family and the wider Lincoln community in stunned grief as they process the absence of a woman whose fierce spirit and generous heart defined her both on and off the track.
LaDonna joined No Coast Roller Derby in 2011 and quickly became a key player admired for her fierce competitiveness and unwavering dedication that helped elevate the league. She rose to serve as captain not once but twice earning the respect of teammates and opponents alike through her relentless work ethic and leadership on the floor. Her passion for the sport extended well beyond competition as she stepped into roles as an official and coach guiding new skaters with the same patience and fire that had defined her own journey from the moment she laced up her skates.
Over the years she contributed not only as a player but also as an official and coach helping to strengthen the league and inspire new generations of skaters who looked to her as a role model of resilience and heart. Friends in the derby world remember how she balanced intense training with a warmth that made every practice feel like family and every bout feel like home.
