On February 24, 2026, a cherished resident of Salado passed away unexpectedly. Kayden Shane Miller, just 22 years old, was taken from this world far too soon, leaving his family, friends, and the entire Salado community heartbroken. Born on January 26, 2004 in Round Rock, he was a 2022 graduate of Salado High School who lived with a gentle heart, a bright smile, and a deep love for those around him.
Kayden was the beloved son of Justin and Leigh Miller and a caring big brother to Kalan and Kinleigh. He shared close bonds with his grandparents Buddy and Brenda Miller, Linda Hayman, and extended family, along with his soon-to-be fiancée Danielle Roby and her parents, who all held him very dear. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to every gathering and every ordinary day.
A dedicated volunteer firefighter with the Salado Volunteer Fire Department from 2022 to 2025, Kayden showed real courage and commitment to serving his community. He thrived in many sports growing up, including soccer, baseball, football, lacrosse, and cross country, and excelled in archery where he qualified for State twice and Nationals once. He also competed on the high school fishing team in Georgetown and Salado, earning awards such as 7th place Angler of the Year in 2018-2019 and 2nd place in 2021-2022.
Those who knew Kayden speak fondly of his positive energy, genuine compassion, and the natural way he made people feel comfortable and valued. He had a special ability to light up any room and create happy memories through his kind spirit and quiet strength, qualities that made him someone everyone wanted to be around.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. at Heritage Country Church in Salado, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. to celebrate his life. Kayden will be laid to rest next to his brother at the IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Salado Fishing Club in his name to honor his deep passion for the outdoors.
The Salado community will forever remember Kayden Shane Miller as a kind, joyful young man whose warmth, service, and love for life touched so many hearts. May his family find peace and comfort in the beautiful memories they shared and the outpouring of love surrounding them during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Kayden.
