It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joseph “Joey” Douglas Lynch. The 53-year-old beloved resident of Bristol, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Born on November 15, 1972, in Waterbury, Joey lived a life filled with warmth, laughter, and quiet strength that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
His sudden yet peaceful departure has left a deep ache in the hearts of his family and friends across Waterbury and Bristol, where he was known for bringing comfort and joy to those around him through his genuine spirit and easygoing nature.
Joey was a devoted son, father, brother, and friend whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and comfort to so many. He had a natural gift for making people smile and lightening the moment with a quick joke or a kind word, creating an atmosphere where everyone felt at ease and truly valued.
He worked as a field technician at ITG Communications, where he took pride in his work and the connections he made along the way. Joey approached each day with the same steady dedication and friendly demeanor that defined him in every part of his life, building relationships with colleagues and customers alike through his reliability and warm personality. His colleagues remember him as someone who could turn a tough job into a lighter experience, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh that made the workday better for everyone around him.
Judith Lynch, Joey’s devoted mother; his beloved daughter Madison Lynch; his sister Kelly DiLullo and her husband John; his brother James Lynch and his wife Donna; his sister-in-law Heather Lynch; his nieces Mariah Lynch and her husband Alex Markowich, Autumn and her husband Dr. Vincent Canzanese, and Paige DiLullo; his nephews Kolby Lynch, Ayden Lynch, and John Michael DiLullo; and his great-nieces Alexis and Violet Markowich. Since the family is concentrating on private memory and celebrating the whole life he lived with such sincerity and care, no precise cause of death has been made public.
On Saturday, April 11, 2026, calling hours will begin at 9:00 a.m. at O’Brien’s Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol. At 11:00 a.m., a funeral procession will depart for a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 309 S. Main St., Waterbury. The funeral will take place at Waterbury’s Pine Grove Cemetery. In addition to commemorating the man who meant so much to so many in Waterbury and Bristol, these ceremonies provide family and friends with a meaningful place to gather, tell tales of Joey’s warmth and humor, and start the healing process.
Joey Douglas Lynch will be remembered as a man whose quick wit, kind heart, and steady presence left the world a little brighter for everyone who knew him. Though his time with us ended far too soon, the laughter, comfort, and genuine connections he shared continue to live on in the hearts of his mother Judith, daughter Madison, siblings, extended family, and all whose lives he touched with his gentle spirit and joyful nature.
