His affiliations with St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart and Powers Health Rehabilitation Center in Crown Point reflected his enduring commitment to patient care.
Since arriving in Northwest Indiana in 1978, Dr. Obaid became a trusted figure in cardiology, treating complex conditions across practices in Portage, Merrillville, and Valparaiso. Board‑certified in FACC and FSCAI, he worked closely with Community Care Network Inc., earning recognition for his skill in angioplasty and arrhythmia management. For his final farewell, a Janazah prayer was held on December 9 at 1 p.m. following Duhr at the Northwest Indiana Islamic Center, with burial at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. That evening, condolences were received at the center from 6 to 8 p.m., as mourners gathered to celebrate a life devoted to healing, service, and faith.
