Brittany Marie Members Death – Cherished woman from Indiana killed in Indianapolis

A woman identified as 38‑year‑old Brittany Marie Members died after a shooting early Sunday morning, May 3, 2026, at a rental home in the 4000 block of North Park Avenue on Indianapolis’ near north side. Police responded just before 1 a.m. to reports of a person shot at the residence, which investigators believe was hosting a post‑prom gathering.

When officers arrived, they found Members suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries. IMPD confirmed that the shooting occurred during what appeared to be a large post‑prom party attended by numerous teenagers at a short‑term rental property.

Shortly after the initial response, officers were notified that two additional gunshot victims had walked into Methodist Hospital for treatment. Detectives determined that both individuals had also been shot at the North Park Avenue location. One victim was listed in critical condition, while the other was reported to be in stable condition.

A fourth person was injured while attempting to flee the home during the chaos, according to police. Witnesses described hearing dozens of gunshots, with some neighbors estimating more than sixty rounds fired as partygoers ran for safety. Several residents reported teens hiding behind cars and seeking shelter inside nearby homes.

Neighbors told investigators that the street had been crowded with vehicles throughout the night due to the party. Some described multiple volleys of gunfire and frantic screams as people scattered. Police recovered a large number of shell casings at the scene as part of their ongoing investigation.

IMPD has not released information about a suspect or motive. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage, interviewing witnesses, and urging anyone with information to contact the IMPD Homicide Office or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana as the investigation continues.
