The vibrant 17-year-old sophomore at Shelbyville High School, was tragically killed on Monday, April 20, 2026. Adalina, affectionately known as Addy to her loved ones, was spending the evening with friends when an 18-year-old friend accidentally discharged a firearm while playfully waving it around. Believing the safety was on, he pointed the gun at her and pulled the trigger, striking Adalina in the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Adalina was a deeply loving and compassionate young woman who was passionate about animals, family, and helping others. She dreamed of becoming a nurse so she could save lives and hoped to one day have a large family of her own. Her mother shared, “She wanted to live her life, she wanted to be something, she wanted to be something important. She was something very important; she was very special.”
