Friday morning. Just before sunrise. A call came in around 5:30 a.m. from the 200 block of South Hartley Street in York City. Someone had found a man unresponsive in a breezeway, the narrow passage between two residential homes. Police arrived. The man was already gone.
He was later identified as Nidair Jordon Collier, 31-year-old and a resident of York City. Emergency responders did what they could, but it was too late. The York County Coroner’s Office was requested to the scene around 9 a.m. to make it official. Collier had been killed.
An autopsy was completed the next day, Saturday. The coroner’s report listed two causes of death. Multiple gunshot wounds. And sharp force trauma. Not one. Both. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.
York City Police have opened a full investigation. Detectives are now working to answer a critical question: Did the attack happen in the breezeway, or was Collier placed there after being wounded elsewhere? The scene has been processed. Witnesses have been interviewed. But the timeline remains incomplete.
Authorities have identified a person of interest. Her name is Angelica Caraballo. She is 26 years old. Police have been clear that she is not a suspect. But her name came up during witness interviews on Friday morning. Detectives want to talk to her. They believe she may have information that could clarify what happened.
