A 27‑year‑old man identified as Adarius S. Glees of St. Paul was fatally shot Thursday night in downtown St. Paul, according to police and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner. The shooting occurred just before 9 p.m. on the 200 block of Seventh Street East, where officers were dispatched after receiving a 911 call from the victim himself reporting he had been shot.
Responding officers located Glees with a gunshot wound to the abdomen outside a building near East Seventh Street. Medics from the St. Paul Fire Department provided emergency care before transporting him to Regions Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police said the initial 911 call came in around 8:50–8:51 p.m., and officers arrived within minutes to secure the scene and begin lifesaving efforts. Investigators noted that Glees was conscious when he contacted police, but his condition deteriorated rapidly before and during transport to the hospital.
Authorities confirmed that no arrests had been made as of Friday morning, and investigators have not yet identified a suspect. Police said they are working to determine what led to the shooting and whether the victim had any prior interaction with the shooter before the incident.
The St. Paul Police Department stated that there was no ongoing threat to the public, describing the shooting as an isolated incident. Forensic Services and the Video Management Unit processed the area for evidence, including surveillance footage from nearby buildings.
