Wendell Trey Trapp, a 28=year-old beloved resident of Tupelo Mississippi, passed away suddenly on December 7 2025 leaving the community in profound grief. Born and raised in Corinth Mississippi he embodied the kindness and warmth of his Southern upbringing throughout his life.
After graduating from Corinth High School Trey pursued higher education at Mississippi State University earning a degree in business and finance that shaped his professional path. He established a successful career as a financial analyst at a regional bank in Tupelo where his analytical skills and dedication earned him steady promotions over five years.
Family remained the cornerstone of Trey’s world as a devoted son to his parents Wendell Sr and Margaret Trapp who instilled enduring values of respect and service in their only child. He shared a close bond with his extended relatives through regular gatherings at the family lake house near Corinth fostering traditions of storytelling and shared meals.
In his leisure time Trey cultivated hobbies that highlighted his creative side including woodworking where he crafted custom shelves for local charities and amateur photography capturing Tupelo’s historic landmarks during weekend explorations. He volunteered sporadically with the local Habitat for Humanity chapter applying his finance knowledge to budget planning for builds. H
The cause of Trey’s death has not been publicly disclosed respecting the family’s request for privacy amid their mourning process. As Tupelo reflects on his impactful presence the community prepares to honor his memory through acts of service inspired by his example. Services celebrating Trey’s life are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday December 11 2025 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors in Tupelo with visitation beginning at noon. Burial will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park where family and friends can gather to pay respects. In lieu of flowers donations to Mississippi State University’s alumni scholarship fund are encouraged to support future business students in his name.
