Born on September 20, 1934, in Aragon, Georgia, she lived a long and faithful life marked by quiet service, family devotion, and community involvement that touched many in the Rome area over nine decades.
Mrs. Parker was a dedicated member of West Rome Baptist Church, where she served faithfully in the nursery for more than 50 years, caring for countless infants and young children with patience and love. Her consistent presence and gentle spirit made her a beloved figure in the congregation, reflecting a lifetime of humble Christian service that extended far beyond Sunday mornings.
She attended Rockmart High School and graduated from Rome High School before building a career as a typesetter at Berry College. Her precise work and steady professionalism contributed to the college’s operations for many years until her retirement, earning respect from colleagues who appreciated her reliability and attention to detail.
A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Sybil shared 67 years of marriage with her late husband Chesley Patrick Parker, Sr. Together they raised a family that remained central to her world, and she found joy in the simple rhythms of home life, church fellowship, and the bonds that connected generations in Northwest Georgia.
Visitation for Mrs. Parker was held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at West Rome Baptist Church on Shorter Avenue in Rome, allowing friends and family to gather, share stories, and honor a life defined by steadfast kindness and quiet strength.
