It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Shawn James King, a devoted resident of Lake Orion, Michigan who left this world on March 13, 2026 at the age of 51. A man of grand gestures and gentle spirit, he lived with fearless energy and loved with an even bigger heart, yet nothing defined him more deeply than his unwavering devotion to his daughter Allisandra.
Shawn grew up embracing life as a true risk taker, filling his days with escapades and adventures that reflected his unapologetic zest for excitement. From his earliest years he chased thrills wherever they appeared, whether organizing gatherings or diving into new experiences with full commitment.
Known for his fierce dedication to his daughter’s education, Shawn worked tirelessly to ensure that Allisandra had every opportunity to succeed. Friends and family recall his determination and pride in her accomplishments, as well as his constant encouragement for her to pursue her dreams with the same passion he carried through his own life. He instilled in her the values of resilience and optimism, always showing up as her biggest supporter and guiding light no matter the challenge ahead.
His true passion centered on the mountains and the ski community where he became a respected mentor and coach to many. Shawn spent years working the hills, from driving a snow cat with precision at Alta to embracing the hard work of ranch life out West, and he passed that fire straight to Allisandra, raising her to share his deep love for the sport and the bonds it creates.
In an effort to honor Shawn’s memory, a college fund has been established to support Allisandra’s educational journey, with the family requesting donations in lieu of flowers so his deepest wishes for her future can continue to unfold exactly as he dreamed. A Celebration of Life will take place at Pine Knob Ski Resort in the Pinery Room on Saturday, March 21, 2026, featuring visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., a ceremony from 11:30 to 12:15 p.m., and an open house with lunch and sharing until 4:00 p.m.
He is survived by his daughter Allisandra, the mother of his daughter Teresa King, his parents Jim and Carol King, and his brothers Craig and Jeff King, all of whom now draw strength from the strong faith that sustained him.
The outpouring of thoughts, prayers, and condolences reflects the impact Shawn King had on Lake Orion and beyond. A beloved presence in the hearts of many, he will always be remembered for the love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to his daughter Allisandra that illuminated his every step, along with the adventures, fireworks, and mountain spirit he shared so freely.
