Matthew “Matt” Grant of London, Ontario, passed away on December 3, 2025, at University Hospital following a brief illness. He was 35 years old. His unexpected departure has left family and friends heartbroken, grieving a life filled with promise, adventure, and deep personal connections.
Matt was born in London on June 18, 1990, to his father Jeffrey Grant and was a devoted brother to Jonathon. He was a proud and beloved uncle to Adia and Abby, who cherished his fun-loving and adventurous presence. A graduate of Fanshawe College’s business program, Matt approached both his career and his personal interests with curiosity and a desire to continually learn and explore.
An avid traveler, Matt had a passion for the open road. He drove across every mainland Canadian province and through much of the United States, embracing the freedom and discovery of each journey. He was also a dedicated sports fan, faithfully supporting the New England Patriots and taking great pride in Tom Brady’s legendary career.
He was a loyal and passionate fan of the New England Patriots, he took great pride in Tom Brady’s seven Super Bowl wins. Matt was also an avid golfer from a young age, who cherished the camaraderie of the game.
Matt’s life, though cut short, was defined by his energetic spirit, his loyalty to family and friends, and his ability to find joy in wide-ranging adventures and simple pleasures alike. He will be deeply missed by his father Jeffrey, brother Jonathon, nieces Adia and Abby, and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held in London to celebrate Matt’s life. The family is grateful for the outpouring of support and invites those who knew him to honor his memory by embracing the love for life, travel, and connection that he so fully embodied.
