It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda Hrynewycz, a beloved resident of Warsaw, Indiana, who departed this life on December 28, 2025, at the age of 77.
Born on October 10, 1948, in Chardon, Ohio, Linda was the daughter of Neil and Mary (Weaver) Hostetler. Her upbringing in the rural Midwest instilled in her the values of faith, hard work, and close family ties—principles that guided her throughout her life.
Linda eventually made Warsaw her home, embracing the rhythms of small-town living in Kosciusko County. Known as the Orthopedic Capital of the World, Warsaw provided the backdrop for much of her adult life and professional contributions. She worked for Biomet, a leading medical device manufacturer, where she dedicated 11 years of service. Her colleagues admired her reliability, kindness, and strong work ethic, and her retirement in 1998 marked the conclusion of a career that supported an industry vital to the community.
On November 25, 1988, Linda married Roman Hrynewycz, beginning a partnership rooted in devotion and respect. Together, they nurtured a blended family, creating a home filled with love, unity, and shared joy. Family gatherings and everyday moments reflected the strength of their bond and the warmth Linda brought into each relationship.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Fanny Owens and Martha Lozier, and her brother Pete Hostetler. Despite these losses, Linda carried forward with resilience, finding strength in her remaining family and the love that surrounded her.
Linda is survived by her husband, Roman; her children Romanna (Robert) Looney of Warsaw, Deanna (David) Rahill of Laveen, Arizona, Michelle (Chris) Slason of Lake Havasu, Arizona, Daniel Hrynewycz of Longmont, Colorado, and Lisa Hrynewycz of Warsaw; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and her sisters Carol (Jim) Byler of Hoschton, Georgia, and Edna (Jim) Farmwald of Huntsburg, Ohio, along with many nieces and nephews.
Her life was defined by devotion to family, faith, and community. The legacy she leaves behind is reflected in the generations she nurtured and the countless acts of care she offered. In Warsaw, her influence will endure through the love she gave so freely and the example she set of living with grace and dedication.
