LaTia Taylor Death – Cherished resident of Utica, New York- LaTia Ann Taylor has passed away

LaTia Ann Taylor of Utica, New York, a warm-hearted 29-year-old whose gentle presence touched everyone around her, passed away unexpectedly on April 3, 2026, while at home, leaving family and friends in Utica and the wider Mohawk Valley grappling with a loss that feels far too soon for someone who brought such light to everyday moments.

She was born on May 15, 1996, in nearby New Hartford, the daughter of Charles Taylor Sr. and Cheryl Platt Taylor. She had strong ties to the community and graduated with the class of 2015 from Rome Free Academy before establishing a stable career at All Seasonings Ingredients Inc. in Oneida, where her dependability and upbeat outlook were evident every day.

She shared a longtime, devoted relationship with Maurice “Man” Garrett, and together they raised their beloved daughter Z’nyrah A. “Z” Garrett, cherishing every opportunity to create special memories through simple crafts at home or little getaways that strengthened their close bond as a family.

LaTia had a natural gift for kindness and compassion that made others feel truly valued, whether through a quiet smile, an encouraging word, or simply showing up when someone needed support, and she filled gatherings with laughter, singing, and the upbeat sounds of her favorite pop and early 2000s R&B tracks.

She found real joy in the kitchen, experimenting with recipes built around natural ingredients, and carried a deep appreciation for holistic living and gentle remedies that reflected her thoughtful approach to caring for herself and those she loved, all while living simply and giving generously from a heart that never seemed to run dry.

In remembrance of her, visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Eannace Funeral Home Inc., located at 932 South Street on the corner of Hammond Avenue in Utica. Her Home Going Service and Celebration of Life will then take place at the same location at 3:00 p.m., providing loved ones with a meaningful space to share stories and consider the enduring legacy of warmth and connection she leaves behind.
