Kaitlyn Graves, 22, Cypress Station woman found beaten to death in Harris County Apartments

A 22-year-old woman was found dead inside her apartment in north Houston’s Cypress Station area on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Kaitlyn Graves lived alone at The Arden apartment complex at 905 Cypress Station Drive near Hollow Tree Lane.

Family members who had not heard from her for several days requested a welfare check. Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 5:30 p.m., and apartment management helped them gain entry to the unit. Graves’ body was discovered inside.

Homicide detectives determined that Graves suffered severe blunt trauma injuries. The case has been classified as a homicide. Sgt. Jason Brown with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division stated that investigators believe the victim knew her attacker. There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment, supporting the theory that someone familiar gained access. No suspects have been publicly named or arrested as of May 14-15, 2026.

Graves has been remembered by her mother and loved ones as a kind, giving, and helpful person who often went out of her way to support others. Friends described her as beautiful, intelligent, outgoing, and someone who did not deserve such a violent end. The sudden nature of her death has sent shockwaves through her personal circle and the broader north Harris County community.

The Arden at Cypress Station is a multi-unit apartment complex in a busy area near the North Freeway. The discovery has heightened concerns about safety in residential complexes and the importance of regular check-ins with loved ones. The investigation remains active, with detectives pursuing leads.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office continues to gather evidence and interview potential witnesses. Detectives have emphasized that this does not appear to be a random act of violence. Anyone with information about Graves’ death is urged to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.

Graves was 22 years old. She lived alone, died from blunt trauma, and her family found her after days of silence. Those are the details her loved ones are sharing as they mourn. No funeral arrangements have been publicly announced.
