Judy Tollison Britton Obituary – Beloved resident of Russellville, Alabama, passed away peacefully

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Judy Tollison Britton. The 73-year-old beloved resident of Russellville, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Born to Albert and Rose (Cercone) Fiorillo on April 10, 1929, Judy lived a long and gracious life defined by quiet devotion, warmth, and an enduring love for family that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Judy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose presence brought comfort and joy to her family for more than seven decades. She and her husband Jimmy shared 53 beautiful years together, building a home filled with laughter, support, and unwavering care.

As a mother she poured her heart into raising her children with patience and kindness, and as a grandmother she delighted in every moment spent with her grandchildren, creating memories that will continue to warm their lives for years to come. Her family remembers her as the steady heart of their household, always ready with a listening ear or a gentle word of encouragement.

She worked as a nurse for 20 years before spending many more years at the veterinary clinic, where her compassion extended naturally to both people and animals alike. Judy found quiet joy in her work and in the simple pleasure of reading in her spare time, often losing herself in a good book after a long day. Friends and colleagues recall her as someone who approached life with a steady grace and a genuine interest in others, making every interaction feel personal and meaningful.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 53 years Jimmy Britton; children Matthew Britton (Kim), Marty Britton, and Katy Britton Graham (Alex); grandchildren Riley Graham and Hayden Malone; brother Lloyd Tollison Jr.; and several nieces and nephews who will carry forward the love and values she instilled in them. Judy’s role as wife, mother, and matriarch remained the center of her world, and the bonds she nurtured with such devotion will continue to guide and comfort her family in the days ahead.

The visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 05, 2026, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Frank Billingham officiating the service. Burial will take place at Belgreen Cemetery. These services will offer family and friends a meaningful space to gather, share stories of Judy’s kindness, and begin healing while celebrating the remarkable woman who meant so much to so many.

Judy Tollison Britton will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose quiet strength, compassionate heart, and love for family left the world a little warmer for everyone who knew her. Though her time with us has ended, the grace, kindness, and gentle spirit she shared endure in the hearts of her husband Jimmy, her children, grandchildren, brother, and all whose lives she touched, offering a lasting reminder to live with the same open-hearted devotion and simple joy that defined her beautiful 73 years.
