It is with deep sorrow and profound respect that we announce the passing of John H. “Jack” Enos, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who died peacefully at his home in Fort Myers, Florida, on Thursday, April 30, 2026. At the age of 73, Mr. Enos passed away following a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
His departure has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends, who knew him for his unwavering loyalty, warmth, and dedication to those he loved. The communities of Fort Myers and Burlington mourn the loss of a man whose life was defined by familial devotion and enduring kindness.
From a young age, Jack was surrounded by family and close friends, a connection that remained the center of his world throughout his life. He cherished memories of driving north to Burlington to visit extended family, camping annually with his parents and siblings, and spending time with neighbors on Green Street.
These early experiences fostered a deep sense of community and belonging, shaping his character and his approach to relationships. Friends recall his genuine interest in others and his ability to make everyone feel welcome, noting how his presence strengthened the bonds of those around him.
Jack spent more than 50 years as Kathleen M. (Boylan) Enos’ dedicated and loving husband. Their union served as a solid basis for their family and was an example of enduring love, respect, and shared ideals. He provided unwavering love and support as a brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and friend.
The arrival of his grandson and namesake, Jack, brought him immense joy, and he embraced the role of grandfather with enthusiasm and pride. Family members remember his patience, humor, and willingness to share his wisdom, highlighting his role as a guiding force in their lives.
On Friday, May 8, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., family and friends are welcome to attend viewing at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, which is situated at 43 Winn St. in Burlington. On Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., the funeral home will host his funeral service.
Burial services will take place on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at New Calvary Cemetery in Mattapan. These arrangements provide structured opportunities for loved ones to honor his life, share memories, and offer condolences to his grieving family.
