On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, 16-year-old Jaimin White tragically died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Atlanta city and the high school student’s family are in grief following his passing.
A home on the 1500 block of Ferno Drive Northwest, a residential street in a northwest Atlanta suburb, was the scene of the incident earlier in the evening. This is where Jaimin White received the serious gunshot wound, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Jaimin did not drive himself to seek assistance, despite some early claims to the contrary. Rather, a family member drove the injured adolescent in their own car after realizing how serious the situation was. About three miles from the shooting scene, at 1045 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, they arrived at Atlanta Fire Rescue Station 38.
At around 10:50 p.m., Atlanta police officers were sent to the fire station. When they arrived, they discovered Jaimin White in a car, unconscious. The 16-year-old was declared deceased at the fire station notwithstanding any emergency assistance that was given at the spot. His identification was later formally validated by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, which is in charge of establishing the cause and manner of death for occurrences in Fulton County.
Atlanta police concluded that the fatal injury was self-inflicted following a comprehensive investigation that analyzed the scene and collected evidence. In Atlanta’s Glenwood Park area, Jaimin White attended Maynard Jackson High School.
