The Muskoka area of Ontario has been quietly reflecting on the life of Grace Helen Davy, who passed away peacefully at home on April 11, 2026, at the age of 70 after an eight-year journey with stage four ovarian cancer that she faced with remarkable strength and deep faith.
Born on October 14, 1955, in St. Catharines to parents Nick and Esther Dyck, Grace grew up as the second youngest of six siblings, finding simple happiness in the family’s hobby orchard where cherry picking and outdoor play created lasting memories of a carefree rural childhood filled with connection and joy. Those early days helped shape her nurturing spirit and appreciation for life’s quieter blessings.
She pursued studies in Developmental Social Work at Georgian College before meeting her future husband Alan at a spring banquet for young people, where his immediate fondness led to many thoughtful opportunities to spend time together until their wedding on August 26, 1978, at Grace Church in Newmarket, celebrated among close friends and relatives.
Early in their marriage the couple relocated to Vancouver Island to serve alongside the Cowichan First Nation community in Duncan, British Columbia, for four years, welcoming their children Jason and Laura while navigating significant health hurdles including Jason’s Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease and Laura’s haemangioma that required extensive medical care and family resilience.
After returning to Ontario and settling in the Bradford region, Grace spent 18 years as an Educational Assistant, creating a caring environment where every student felt truly valued and supported, while finding personal fulfillment through folk painting, quilting, drawing, and immersive Precept Bible studies that reflected her commitment to living out her faith through service and encouragement.
She leaves behind her devoted husband Alan, son Jason with his wife Heather, daughter Laura with her husband Jake, and six cherished grandchildren Madison, Isaiah, Zoey, Zeke, Zach, and Ezra, whose lives carry forward the love and strength she poured into her family; a memorial service will gather loved ones on April 22, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Pinegrove Fellowship Church on 295 Taylor Road in Bracebridge, followed by a light lunch as they celebrate her legacy of faithful living.
