George “Frank” Blair, affectionately known as “Papaw,” of Saint Paris, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the age of 69 in Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by his loving family. His passing followed a sudden and aggressive battle with leukemia and liver cancer.
He made his home in Saint Paris for many years, where he became a familiar and well-respected figure. He took great pride in his work at the St. Paris Hardware Store and served as a village council member, always striving to be a strong voice for his neighbors and to help others in need.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Frank remained deeply committed to his country and community. He was an active member of the St. Paris Lions Club, the Pony Wagon Day Committee, and helped organize monthly community breakfasts and many other local events. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, tinkering with lawn mowers, and most of all spending time with his family and spoiling his beloved dog, Baby Girl.
Affectionately known as “Papaw,” Frank’s greatest source of pride and joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. He worked hard to be an amazing grandfather, cherishing every moment spent creating memories that his family will carry forever. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 40 years, Sandra, and a loving father who poured his heart into his children and grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his loving wife Sandra, his daughters Jennifer Blair and Ryan Craig, Rebecca Jantonio, Stormy (Marshall) and Jon Nguyen, his son Joshua and Amy Blair, and many cherished grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
In honor of Frank Blair’s life, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be shared by the family. Donations and contributions in his memory may be made to the “Frank Blair Memorial” at The First Central National Bank. As the Saint Paris community comes together to mourn, they celebrate the joy, love, and dedication “Papaw” brought to so many.
