For more than four decades, Marler served the Upstate region with compassion and integrity.
Marler’s path began at Woodruff High School, where he graduated in 1973, followed by Wofford College in 1977. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1984. Establishing his practice in Easley, he became known not only for his clinical skill but also for his genuine concern for patients’ well-being. Many who sought his care came to regard him as both a trusted dentist and a lifelong friend.
Faith was central to Marler’s life. As a longtime member of Easley First Baptist Church, he gave generously of his time and talents. He served as a deacon, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and guided youth as an RA leader. His involvement on committees dedicated to personnel and stewardship reflected his quiet but steadfast leadership. Those who worshiped alongside him remember his commitment to spiritual growth and community service.
Marler found his greatest joy in family. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he cherished time spent with loved ones. Special memories with his granddaughter Meredith held deep meaning, and his role as a family anchor provided strength and unconditional support across generations. Relatives describe him as a source of stability whose presence brought comfort and encouragement.
A service celebrating Marler’s life will be held at Easley First Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 11:30 a.m., followed by a reception in the church atrium. In keeping with his values, the family has requested that contributions be directed to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, honoring both Marler and Meredith.
