Destiny Elizabeth Navarro-Somatis, affectionately known as “Dezzi,” of Florin, California, passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2026, at the age of 18. Born on January 15, 2008, in Sacramento, her sudden loss has left her family and community heartbroken. Those who knew Destiny remember a sweet, caring, and thoughtful young woman whose warm heart and gentle spirit touched everyone around her.
Destiny grew up in the Florin and Sacramento area as the oldest of three sisters. Raised by her devoted mother Brianna (Bree) Navarro, she took pride in her role as the big sister and protector. She was still attending high school at the time of her passing, standing on the cusp of a future full of possibilities while bringing light and tenderness to her everyday interactions with family and friends.
She had a special tenderness toward children and animals, and she adored spending time with her family. Destiny loved swimming, her beloved dog Kovu, Hello Kitty, and Hot Cheetos. These simple joys reflected her bright, spirited personality and the zest she brought to life. Beneath any youthful rebellious moments lay a soul of remarkable goodness, kindness, and respect.
Her unexpected passing has profoundly affected her mother Brianna Navarro, who now faces the immense challenge of grieving while caring for her three young daughters. The loss has created significant emotional and practical burdens for the family during this incredibly difficult time.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Robert Catholic Church in Sacramento, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM.
