The victim has been identified by his family as DeAnthony Glenn, a freshman at Cypress Falls High School who was remembered as a bright, fun-loving, and caring young man who excelled both academically and athletically, especially in the sport of football that he truly loved.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 11:15 p.m. on State Highway 6 near Pebble Lake Drive in northwest Harris County. Sergeant Ben Troyer stated that a Jeep Wrangler was traveling along Highway 6 when the teen attempted to cross the roadway on his bicycle and was struck by the vehicle. The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene, cooperated fully with investigators, and showed no signs of intoxication.
DeAnthony was airlifted by LifeFlight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, where he was initially listed in critical condition. Despite what his family described as the tireless efforts of the medical team, DeAnthony ultimately succumbed to his injuries, leaving his family and community devastated. His mother had been present at the scene of the crash on Saturday night, waiting desperately for news of her son.
