On December 4, 2025, the Indianapolis community was heartbroken by the sudden loss of Dean “Kuntry” Miller at the age of 45. Known for his vibrant personality, deep love for family, and generous spirit, Dean’s unexpected passing has left a lasting void in the lives of all who knew him.
A lifelong Indianapolis resident, Dean grew up in the Haughville neighborhood and graduated from Crispus Attucks High School, where he was a memorable figure on the basketball court. He spent 15 years as a warehouse supervisor at a local logistics company, leading his team with a positive attitude, humor, and an unwavering commitment to his colleagues.
Dean’s greatest role was as a devoted husband to his wife of 22 years, Michelle, and a loving father to their four children. He poured his energy into coaching youth sports, attending every school event, and creating a home full of joy, laughter, and meaningful traditions. His family was his anchor, and his home on the west side was a welcoming place for barbecues, game nights, and neighborhood gatherings.
Beyond his family and career, Dean was deeply connected to his community. He volunteered at local food pantries, organized block parties, and could often be found cheering at Colts tailgates with friends. He enjoyed woodworking in his garage, crafting furniture for loved ones, and sharing his passion for music through his collection of vintage vinyl records.
A public visitation and celebration of Dean’s life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Stuart Mortuary on North Capitol Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Indianapolis Urban League’s youth mentorship programs—a cause close to Dean’s heart and a fitting tribute to his commitment to lifting up the next generation.
