A tragic incident claimed the life of Charlie Otto Washington, a cherished 18 year old resident of Riverton, Wyoming who was fatally shot in an apartment just after midnight on March 3, 2026.
The young man known affectionately as Baby Bull lost his life when his vehicle crossed the center line in a separate earlier incident no the shooting occurred inside a Riverton apartment and the alleged shooter fled the scene according to witness accounts. His sister Shannon Hill confirmed his identity to local media leaving the Arapaho community and the entire Wind River area in profound grief.
Charlie was born on March 12 2007 in Hardin, Montana to Cordell Lee Washington Sr and Angelica Yellowbear. He grew up embraced by a loving family that instilled strong values of faith and connection. Baptized in the Catholic faith he also practiced the ways of the Native American Church blending both spiritual traditions with deep respect and daily devotion throughout his short life in Wyoming.
He loved being around his family and friends and found special joy in helping take care of his nieces and nephews who adored their uncle. Charlie brought warmth and laughter to every gathering creating bonds that strengthened the household and extended through the Arapaho community. A vigil service with a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday March 9 2026 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with a wake to follow at Lorrina Yellowbear’s home #38 Great Plains Loop. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 10 2026 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery offering loved ones a chance to gather and celebrate the bright young man whose spirit remains alive in the stories laughter and love he shared so freely.
