Ashley Ross, 38, was found dead inside her home on the 300 block of West Ely Street in Alliance, Ohio, on the morning of May 13, 2026. Her husband, Robert Andre Ross, was later arrested in West Virginia and charged with her murder.
Police were called to the residence around 7 a.m. after one of Ross’s children discovered her body and dialed for help. Responding officers found Ashley Ross deceased in a bedroom and quickly secured the home, removing the children to the care of relatives. Investigators confirmed the case was being treated as a homicide.
Detectives obtained a search warrant and collected evidence with assistance from the Stark County Coroner’s Office. Preliminary findings indicated Ashley sustained traumatic injuries to her arms and head. Her body was sent to Cuyahoga County for a full autopsy to determine the official cause of death.
Authorities identified her husband, Robert Andre Ross, as the primary suspect. He fled Alliance shortly after the killing and was considered armed and dangerous. The U.S. Marshals Service joined the manhunt, warning that anyone who aided Ross could face prosecution.
Later that same day, federal agents located Ross in a vehicle near Morgantown, West Virginia. He was arrested without incident during a traffic stop and booked into a local jail, where he awaits extradition to Stark County to face murder charges.
Neighbors and friends described Ashley Ross as a loving mother of four who was deeply involved in her community. One friend, Amanda McAbee, said Ross was “a very nice, loving person” whose children will need significant support in the aftermath of the tragedy.
Alliance Police Chief Aken‑Ra X emphasized that the homicide was an isolated incident and posed no broader threat to the community. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to piece together the events leading up to Ashley’s death.
