Billy Clark slipped away peacefully on January 15, 2026, in Pinehurst, North Carolina. He was 53. Surrounded by his family, he found rest after more than seven years of facing prostate cancer with unbelievable strength and determination. Billy never let the fight dim his spirit. He kept showing up for the people he loved, inspiring everyone with his quiet resolve.
He was born in Southern Pines and grew up as the youngest of three brothers in a home filled with sports, coastal trips, and regular church visits. He was the son of Cheryl Clark in Pinehurst and William Clark in Lakewood, Florida. Those early days shaped his love for family, faith, and the simple joys that carried him through life.
School took him through Pinecrest High School, where he graduated before heading to Elon University for a finance degree. Billy built a solid path, but in 2009 he felt the pull home. He joined the family business, Clark Chevrolet Cadillac in Pinehurst, and stayed there for the rest of his working years, contributing to a legacy that stayed in the Clark name.
Nothing brought him more pride than being a dad. His daughter Hayley, 22, and twin boys Aiden and Carter, 17, were his world. Billy poured heart into their relationship, guiding them with love and being fully present. He cherished those bonds deeply, along with his faith in his Lord and Savior.
In quieter moments, Billy picked up his guitar and let the music flow. He lived for Duke basketball games, cheering with real passion. His dog Betty brought daily companionship and smiles. Those passions reflected the man he was—warm, devoted, and grateful for the good in life.
Friends and family will gather to remember him on Wednesday, January 21, at First Baptist Church of Southern Pines, 200 East New York Avenue. Visitation starts at noon, with the service at 1:00 p.m. It’s a chance to share stories and celebrate the light Billy brought to so many.
Billy Clark leaves behind a legacy of resilience and love. His battle showed incredible courage. His devotion as a father and man of faith touched hearts across Pinehurst and beyond. Though gone too soon, his spirit stays in his children, his music, his family business, and the warmth he shared freely.
