Sadly, we must inform you of Unique Chaya-Ané Miller’s demise. The beloved 34-year-old Charlotte, North Carolina resident died on February 18, 2026, at Charlotte’s Atrium Health. Her life was characterized by quiet perseverance and a deep love for her family.
Born on December 29, 1991, in Baltimore, Maryland, three months premature, she entered the world as a tiny fighter and carried that same determined spirit throughout her journey. The family soon relocated to Charlotte, where Unique attended Butler High School and grew into a compassionate young woman who built meaningful connections wherever she went.
Unique was a devoted daughter who shared an incredibly close bond with her mother, Francine Smith Miller. Through every challenge and triumph, they stood together with unwavering support, understanding, and deep affection that strengthened them both over the years. Their relationship was a beautiful example of mother-daughter love, filled with shared moments of joy, comfort during difficult times, and the kind of everyday closeness that created a foundation of security and warmth for the entire family.
Her daughter Khylee was the absolute center of Unique’s world and her greatest source of joy. She poured her heart into motherhood, working tirelessly as an Environmental Specialist at Atrium Health to provide a safe, loving environment not only for her patients and colleagues but especially for her little girl. Unique made sure Khylee grew up surrounded by encouragement, guidance, and endless affection, turning ordinary days into cherished memories through neighborhood walks, travels to new places, and simple acts of care that showed her daughter the beauty of the world.
Unique found peace and happiness in many personal passions that reflected her vibrant spirit. An avid swimmer who loved the water, she also enjoyed exploring new cuisines, especially African dishes, and staying connected through the latest Apple products. These interests brought her relaxation and excitement, while her genuine kindness and empathetic nature allowed her to connect deeply with others, offering a helping hand or thoughtful word whenever needed.
The sudden news of her passing has deeply affected family, friends, and the Charlotte community, prompting an outpouring of tributes that celebrate her strength, warmth, and the quiet way she made life brighter for those around her. She is survived by her mother Francine, daughter Khylee, siblings Jewel K. Miller of Baltimore, Brenaya N. Miller, Bernard R. Miller with Lekeshia, and Divine S. Miller all of Charlotte, along with nieces and nephews Rainier, Armand, Kaiden, Breydon, Amaya, and Mia, and aunt Sandy Smith of Baltimore. Services are planned for March 21, 2026, with interment at Charlotte Memorial Gardens beside her father Bernard.
