The Wabash community grieves the loss of Tyler Anthony Hyden, who passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the age of 32. His passing at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne has left his family and friends heartbroken, as they remember a young man whose humor, loyalty, and gentle spirit brought joy to all who knew him.
Tyler was the cherished son of Charles R. and Karen (Tyler) Hyden, born in Peru, Indiana, on October 13, 1993. He attended and graduated from Wabash High School, where he was raised. People who knew him in school remember his laid-back demeanor and his capacity to make people laugh, traits that stuck with him throughout his life.
Being at home with the people he loved most made Tyler happiest. He was a real homebody who found solace in the presence of loved ones and close friends as well as in small pleasures. One of his most distinctive qualities was his sense of humor; he was fast, clever, and always able to make others smile. Everywhere he went, his presence brought warmth and humor, and he had a talent for transforming everyday encounters into treasured memories.
He is survived by his mother, Karen Hyden; his brothers, Charles Richard Hyden III and Sam Hyden; and his niece and best friend, Kinsley Gray McDonald, all of Wabash. Tyler’s bond with Kinsley was especially meaningful, she was not only his niece but also his closest companion, and their relationship was filled with love, laughter, and mutual devotion. Tyler was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Hyden Jr., whose memory he carried with him throughout his life.
Tyler Anthony Hyden will be remembered for his humor, his loyalty, and the love he shared so freely. Though his time here was far too short, his spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, and in the countless moments of joy he created. His legacy is one of laughter, love, and the reminder to cherish the simple moments that make life meaningful.
