On Thursday, January 16, 2026, a beloved resident of Peoria, Illinois, Steven “Steve” Martin Daly, passed away at home, surrounded by his family. He was 59 years old. Born on May 25, 1966, in Peoria to James and Frances (Fortner) Daly, Steve was a lifelong resident who held deep roots in his community.
He graduated from Woodruff High School in 1984, an experience that shaped his character and strong work ethic. His professional life was defined by more than two decades of dedicated work as a sub-contractor for Ekhoff Roofing, where his skill and reliability earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
A man of faith and deep commitment, Steve was a devoted husband. He married the love of his life, Karin Rader, on September 13, 1997, in Peoria, and their partnership was a cornerstone of his life. Family was his ultimate priority, and he leaves behind a loving circle including his wife, Karin; his daughters, Abby and Emma Daly; and his sister, Mary (David) Miller, all of Peoria. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Steve will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quiet strength, and the profound kindness he extended to everyone he met. He found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life: a well-done day’s work, the comfort of his home, and the company of his loved ones.
To honor his life, a visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Woodland Baptist Church in Peoria. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
