The crash occurred shortly after 7 p.m. on College Avenue (N.C. 150) near Vick Wilson Road in Boiling Springs, where Parker was driving east in a 2000 Ford Ranger.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the vehicle ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, went off the left side, struck a small ditch, overturned, and Parker was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation, with no other vehicles involved and no immediate indication of impairment or excessive speed reported publicly. Parker, of Lawndale, was a student-athlete set to contribute to the Crest High baseball program in the spring, and his loss has deeply shaken the school, where counselors have been made available to support students, staff, and families.
