The residents of the community of Goshen are saddened following the passing of their beloved member, Marie Lambright, who died on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Greencroft Healthcare after a brief illness. She was 87 years old and leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and family bonds that will be remembered for generations.
John and Rebecca (Newman) Prince welcomed Marie into the world on June 7, 1938, in Jarvis, Kentucky. She was raised with the virtues of compassion, faith, and resilience, which she carried with her throughout her life. She wed Stanley Lambright on September 4, 1963, and they remained in love and relationship until his death on June 30, 2004. Their union served as an example of dedication and long-lasting friendship.
Family was at the heart of Marie’s life. She is survived by her children, Gary Smith of Goshen, Mike (Cheryl) Smith of Nappanee, Deb (Willy) Miller of Shipshewana, and Susie (James) Cassel of Irving, Texas. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Brenda Lambright of Elkhart, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and her brother, Jack Prince of Cincinnati, Ohio. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, strength, and guidance.
Marie was known for her gentle spirit and her devotion to those she loved. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she delighted in watching them grow, offering wisdom and encouragement along the way. Her family remembers her as a source of comfort, someone whose presence brought peace and whose love was unconditional.
The Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in Goshen will have a visitation on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 1 to 5 p.m. Pastor Jon Rauch will conduct the funeral ceremony on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 11 a.m. Marie will be buried next to her cherished husband, Stanley, in Goshen’s Violett Cemetery.
