It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kim Lentner Fields, a devoted mother whose nurturing presence and unconditional love reached everyone she met in her 58-years. The beloved resident of Dubois, Wyoming passed away on February 26 2026 surrounded by the love of her caring daughter Cierra Gross and son Nathan Gross after spending the last two and a half years in the community she had grown to cherish.
Born in Flint, Michigan on September 24, 1967, Kim Lentner was the first of two children of Robert Lentner and Patricia Gillam. She had a strong relationship with her brother, Dean Lentner. After graduating from Clio High School in Clio, Michigan, she relocated to Evanston, Wyoming, in 2005, where she began a family more than a year later and built a supportive and caring household.
In 2014 she earned her National Healthcare Association Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certification along with a completion certificate for one hundred forty classroom hours at Uinta County BOCES in Evanston demonstrating her dedication to helping others through compassionate care.
Her greatest accomplishments centered on becoming a mother to Cierra and Nathan and later using her talents for listening and compassion to care for women in shelters where she made a meaningful difference in their lives. Kim was like a second mother to her children’s friends known for her kindness and generosity always ready with an encouraging word or open ear that taught love and kindness to everyone around her.
Kim enjoyed writing drawing reading cooking helping others golf singing being a mother to all whether family or friend and riding motorcycles which brought her joy and a sense of freedom in the beautiful Wyoming landscapes. She laughed often loved deeply and lived fully approaching each day with an optimistic spirit that inspired those closest to her. Her most often uttered prayer reflected her protective heart for family: “Pray over this family and our car where bumper to bumper rooftop to where the road meets rubber all working and non working parts.”
She is survived by her daughter Cierra Gross her son Nathan Gross her brother Dean Lentner and her beloved “furface” Neptune while she was preceded in death by her parents Robert Lentner and Patricia Gillam. In Dubois Kim built a peaceful life centered on family connections and simple pleasures that brought fulfillment even in her final years. Her presence as a steady source of love and support created lasting memories that now provide comfort to all who knew her best.
Cremation has taken place in accordance with her wishes, and a celebration of life will take place at a later time. A contribution fund has been set up in Cierra and Nathan’s names to support them until Cierra completes her CWC certificate and Nathan graduates from high school. Officer Dani Gilden, PO Box 293, Dubois, WY 82513, is the recipient of donations. Even though she passed away far too young, the teachings of compassion, support, and intense love she imparted will continue on, guiding her children, brother, and everyone else whose lives she so profoundly impacted.
